WC: Prophecy problems

For some reason whenever I run WC:P it locks up my system. I can't figure out the problem. I have a voodoo 3, and a K6 processor... I'm not sure what else to list as far as hardware conflicts would go. There's nothing wrong with my cds or my cd-rom. I've tried reinstalling and I've also tried using different install methods (full, minimum...) I'm not sure if I need some unlisted drivers or what. Oh, I am using windows millenium edition, and I turn off my SS when I'm running the game. Any help would be awesome so I can play this without havting to resteart my computer every time I play. thanks

prophecy in win2k

Hi everyone...I'm new here.

I'm trying to get Prophecy working in win2k. I've been trying to download the win2k update from wcnews.com for the past 4 days but ftp server won't let me in? Is that win2k update all I need to get prophecy working and if so...how do I get it? I presume that I need a login and password for the ftp?

win2k
geforce4 ti 4600
asus a7v333 /w built-in c-media sound

Redundant side discussion deleted. The FTP was down. It's now back up in whatever you might want to call its former state.

This looks just like a thread I was going to start :)

I currently bought a new 1.9GHz P4 with a Nvidia Geforce 3 graphics card running windows XP and the Kilrathi Saga runs great, but prophecy's movies are too fast. They jump and skip ahead. Any tips?

Also if anyone has had trouble with WC4 in XP I'd also like some help but I haven't researched this problem enough to formulate a good question yet.

Thanks

I tried disabling sound accelration, it just caused the computer to freeze up when I tries to view a FMV in the game.

Also I've done some more WC4 tinkering, I can't use my mouse in DOS (may need new driver) and I just can't seem to view the videos, test or otherwise.

Thanks

Also set compartiblity mode to Win95.

Viper61, if you using the DOS version of WC4 download the Win95 patch. It will let you play this game in windows.

Viper61, it's bad form to jump on someone else thread. Especially if they are talking about a difference game. This thread was about WCP which confuss me a little. I thought you were talking about WCP and not WC4. If I realize you were talking about WC4 DOS version I would have posted the patch sooner. For WC4 you don't need to disable sound accelleration.
