WC Prophecy error

This error happenes EVERY time at the end of the first disk, I am stuck playing the last mission on the disc trying to figure it out. I complete the mission, 97%, whatever or so, then the game prompts for disc 2. I insert disc 2 and click "OK" and get the following error.

Iff::Iff open file 'mission\d1.mis.iff' not found and not optional, then it opens disc 2 in My Computer

And if I simply try staring up with disc 2 I get:

Iff::Iff open file 'game\cdlayout.iff' not found and not optional

I am running a Toshiba Laptop, winxp home, no patches, no compatibility modes, no nothing. Any help at all would be appreciated, I ended up skipping the tech level needed to play this while at school, I guess.

First thing I would try if you haven't already is to set the compatability mode to either win95 or 98 and see if the problem persists. Second thing to check is whether or not disk 2 is scratched or dirty.
