WC on Win XP?

hi there,

has anybody expieriences w/ wc iii, iv and prophecy on xp professional? i tried iv but it did show the video in the install sequence and did not find the joystick

Does your joystick work in other games? XP has trouble with a lot of them. Have you tried running them in compatibility mode? (right click > properties or such). I'll try to run some of the games later this week.
 
tomb raider iii is no problem. only the sound is stumbling. it repeats the first 2 seconds of every scene in an endless loop.

no, i didn't try compatiility mode. how? what is the best way to play wc iv on xp? have a shortcut on the wc4.exe on the cd? or use wc4win95?

ok. now i installed wc4win95 on my hd and gave that one w95 compatibility mode. unfortunately the joy stick still doesn't work (not recognized). another idea?
 
What's you joystick model and in witch port is it plugged in (USB or DB-15 game port) ?

In the control panel, go in Joystick; is there a jostick listed there ?
 
USB or game port ? Some sound card have problems with digital joysticks plugged in their game port. You may want to try the USB adater if it's the case. Some games will only use the first (prefered) joystick. You may try to have only one plugged and configured.
 
sorry, no reading your fill quest. ist on my game port. joystick has no usb-cable. it's the only gamecontroller

soundcard can't be the problem, cause win xp detects the controller perfectly. even tomb raider iii is running.
