Uninstall Direct X

Hey tech support !

Cause of the problem I have with Prophecy (well and UE) with the movies,(even with no acceleration) I decided to use an utility I found (DirectBuster or something... ) to uninstall directx 8.1 from my Win98 partition and install directx 7.

Will there be any problem ?
I trust you more than them,so I want your opinion. !





P.S. happy chrisreid is posting now,cause he uses to post rarely.

I suspect that whatever you use there will be a risk of some sort of problem, since DirectX was never designed to be uninstalled. If you do want to try it anyway, I recommend backing up your data, because even if it appears to work, something else might stuff up. If that happens, it may be better to just re-install Windows.

Man.......too late.Ive "uninstalled" Direct X and my pc is dead now.
I have never seen so many errors in my life!

TCSTC, try to back up your stuff and reformat.

Mmhhh... i remember an old PC Gamer magazine where they wrote about how to manually delete DirectX, i deleted it a few times...DirectX is bad about uninstalling, you need to mess with the registry and some other things.

I backed up everything Wedge in CD`s.Now I got another problem (I hate Windows THREAD)
