Ultimate Joystick/Rudder/Throttle Combo

Iceman16

Vice Admiral
Hey, I'm building a cockpit simulator like in the arcades and I need some advice from non-salespeople who keep trying to sell me the most expensive hunk of junk the the store (one wanted me to but a joystick, rudder controls and Throttle stick for about $1500!!). I dont wanna spend too much (who does?) but I would like some nice quality stuff. thanks for all the advice you can give!

Here, take some Bandit advice:

For my DOS WCs I use the complete Thrustmaster setup: the FCS joystick, WCS throttle and the RCS pedals.

For the Windows stuff, I use a first generation Microsoft Sidewinder force feedback stick (the one with the Prophecy layout).

Control-wise, I also use a QuickShot Master Pilot keyboard addon... it looks like a fighter VDU, and it has the various WC keyboard shortcuts programmed into fighter looking buttons. It also lights up and looks cool. :)

Yup, that's exactly what I would have told him. :) If you want to integrate various console WCs into a setup, I can reccomend joysticks for all of those (G)

Hey Loaf,

I love the Thrustmaster - had one long ago, used it until it wore out. The problem I always had though is that I'm left-handed and the ones I've seen (and had) are designed for righties. Did Thrustmaster make a unviersal version, or if not, do you have any reccomendations for a universal DOS-era joystick of Thrustmaster quality?
