trying to switch on an old pc(not so old but doesn't work)

i try to switch on the machine...every cables are connected but when i open the screen there's only gren, yellow, red ,violet areas and laterthe screen say " no signal input or cable disconnected " is it a battery trouble or anything else i don't know... please.... rebooting this computer would be the only way to play privateer... i'm not a great technician so difficult for me to launch privateer on my fucking......xp, i've tried vmware but it doesn't download the file....... AAAAHHHHHHHH a hunderd hours on the net to find the ricks or forums, wc cic seems really active??........
 
download vmware!! not so easy

serial fuckin number ok
download board ok
DOWNLOAD binaries for windows ok....

download error close the browser or something like this ..

am i so stupid or incult or unlucky or is there a free version easy to download somewhere? or can you help me to use the old computer with electric troubles? HHHHEEELLLLPPPPP
 
Well, slow down there Turbo.
What exactly is giving you trouble? From your first post I was led to believe your entire computer had a problem. You mentioned a battery. Are you using a laptop?
Not only that, you're not even telling us what you're trying to do. If you let us know what you're attempting here, it will help us immensely and get you an answer far faster.
Meaning detailed info will only help all of us. As far as trying to fake DOS on an XP machine, I know nothing of this, though others here do. Judging by your post title, I guess you're trying to get an old PC to start up? Is this the laptop? What version of Windows are you trying to work with? Do you know the name of any of the hardware you're working with?
 
So....to explain you my problems in a not very good english...
the first and only trouble i have now is only that i cannot have anything on the screen... it's a laptop yes i don't know exactky the configuration but it doesn't matter now,it will be troubles for later, i hope not but...

to describe: i push the button ON: clic

you heard the cd?:starts runnig and stop after 2secs the A: doesn't show any presence and the screen show me some large colored bands or colored full screen, and after few seconds there's an inscription:
" NO SIGNAL INPUT OR CABLE DISCONNECTED"
"Et Pourtant" i've well connected all my cables.
i opened the tower verified the connected cards, harddisk, the processor card the cd and disk .
There's a small circle battery on the prcessor card which have still power ( i test it )... so ...doctor...
i know it'sreally not clear, all contributions are welcome...
 
You say it is a laptop in one sentence yet you say you opened the tower and checked the cards in the next? Do you try to run on two computers at once or do you try to connect that two or?
What you write is extremely confusing to me.

Your CD spins up when you boot? My anti-virus-software goes bonkers if I leave something in any drive... Perhaps you'd like to try booting without the CD in the drive?
It also complains about your A: not being present? Are you using a boot-disk, lacking harddrive or OS, or have you just not set the boot-sequence to check the HD first?
 
Je ne suis pas sur si tu parles le francais, mais si c'est ta langue, peutetre je peux t'aider -- mon francais n'est pas vraiment bien, mais si tu veux essayer, envoye moi un email. Ca ne serait pas poli de parler en francais ici.
