Basically, windows movie maker on my pc is kaput. This has happened at the worst possible time since i had a stroke of inspiration for a new wing commander music video.

Basically, the thing is no longer accepting WMVs or AVI's, or anything for that matter. It gives me an error message saying they're not accepted files. I've ran the virus checker many times and its always come up with nothing.

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so do they know how to fix it? There's two amusing bitmap images for anyone who holds the answer.
 
Does your media player still work? Does it play the files the movie maker is unable to read?
 
Let me give you the standard helpdesk answer: "Have you tried rebooting?"

But seriously, if that doesn't fix it I would suggest reinstalling as well. That should fix the problem.
 
wise advice, i was hoping to avoid having to reinstall however as it would mean digging around dusty cupboards for a cd which may or may not exist as the program came with the computer.

Still, its for the greater good.
