The TCS Firekka's Simulator

Will it be in Ep.2 because it would allow the player to get more flight time in Standoff's fighters. I mean by now if you go around playing the missions like me over and over, you should be pretty good by now. Of course the problem is that we are only good against Talons and Tarsus and we are only good at killing them in Gladii and Stilettoes. So I think it would be great if we could fly something useful like a Rapier.

Yes, the simulator, with a full set of 10 missions, comes with Episode 2.

(It does not retroactively add itself to the Episode 1 portion of the game, though. The Lionheart will still have no simulator, so you have to be at the Firekka to use it.)

All subsequent episodes should need less development time than Episodes 1 and 2, for obvious reasons. Episode 1 was the basis for the whole game, and Episode 2 needs 10 extra missions, 10 extra music tracks, etc. all just because of the sim.

Just about the only things that can delay Episodes 3-5 are voiceovers, cutscene rendering, and cutscene music (which have to be done in that order, so if there's a delay in one of those jobs, it'll affect the subsequent one(s)).

And, considering I'm already rounding up voice-overs for Ep 3, we're hoping that said delay wont happen. Best not count our chickens.. before they.. forget it. I'm not gonna go with the chicken analogy. For the last time, people, Standoff /isn't/ poultry.

:) I take offense at that! :)

The only thing i'm concerned about is that I can fly the Broadsword at some point. But great job on the Prolouge guys, very impressive.

yeah I wouldn't mind flying a broadsword from the concordia with lonewolf escorting me on the way to meet the kilrathi fleet at BoT

Not during the campaign - but you'll have ten different sim missions in which you can fly the Broadsword as much as your heart desires.

Since the Broadsword lacks any decent afterburn, I'm happy it's in the simulator. Frankly, if I'm going to bomb a capship, at least I should be able to run like a chicken when I've launched my torpedoes.

Then you will love the Crossbow. It has two thirds the armor, is only 60 kps faster, has no afterburner, has only one turret, has a only marginable better turn rate then the 'Sword and its shields recharge slower than a fat man can run a mile.

that's exactly what I was hoping... :D

I knew it wouldn't come in the campaign I just wasn't sure how the sim missions would be worked out

You may want to check Standoff's stats page before you say anything about ship stats in Standoff :p.

Well, last time I checked, it had similar protection, DOUBLE the 'swords turn rate as fast as a Rapier and is actually 70 kps faster. Ironically, I love the WC2 broadsword for dogfighting, but not for bombing. That's what Sabres or in Standoff, Gladii, can do better with afterburners.

I just hope that the whole capship will be split up between bridge and engine. A torpedo hit everywhere did damage in WC2, why should it be different in Standoff?
