I was just curious what everyone feels about the next election and what party you plan on voting for. Also why you plan on voting for that party.

i plan on voting republican, unless Bush doesn't go for re-election. as for why, Bush has done a good job so far and i believe will continue to do so. it is nice to have a president that doesn't play middle of the road just to get re-elected. also, i agree with most of what bush has done. yes, the economy isn't doing too good, but we are seeing the effects of clinton's presidency

Since I will be running against President Bush as a Republican, and I plan on voting for myself, I will be voting Republican.

My platform will be that Bush is a flaming liberal pantywaist, and is too soft on terrorists and dirtbag regimes around the world.

See y'all on election day!:D

At least you have something that resembles government parties. In Australia, we have a compulsive liar for a Prime Minister, an opposition leader who acts like a baby, and splinter groups who have links to terrorism such as the Greens who had links to terrorists on their web site. I'd vote no confidence I think, cause that's exactly how I feel.

As much as Bush is doing a fair job, in my opinion, there are still things that I disagree with him about, heavily. And, since I'm a member of the party anyways, I'll be voting Liberatarian!

Just 13 years until I'm president, people.

I'll probably vote for Bush, unless they find some especially neat Democrat to run. Like if they surgically implanted steel jaws into Al Gore. I'd definately vote for that.

If McCain were running again I'd vote for him in a nanosecond. That guy's great.

Hehe. The funny thing is, if Bush gets re-elected and five years from now the economy will still suck, you'll still be blaming Clinton.

Wow, that's a pretty literal interpretation of links. It's also a really stupid thing to say, since it amounts to libel.

New South Wales state elections are cool. (Note sarcasm.)

Hey, since I'm not American, does that mean I should pick the "Why Vote...? My vote wasn't counted last time" option? :p

I can't believe the Greens had something like a 4% swing towards them. Probably all the pot smokers wanting to make marijuana legal. :/

I just think they're extremists. Especially if you believe their links to terrorism. I told you about Peg Putt, didn't I? Oh you would have seen for yourself. She's had to apologise a few times now for things such as accusations she's made and what not.

Meh, I really don't pay that much attention to them - and I wouldn't really believe those links to terrorism - but when the only thing 'green' about the Greens is their name, you have to wonder what's in their heads.

What proof do you have that this is Clinton's fault?

simple, bush hasn't been in office long enough to fuck up the economy. most people don't realize this, but for at least the first pres. term, the economy is the result of the previous pres. now, i agree that bush hasn't done enough to fix the economy, but it's current state ain't his fault

actually no, i'd blame bush. i'd blame clinton for other things that he did, like not taking out bin laden when he had the chance or going soft on saddam, but if in 5 years the economy is still in the shitter, bush will get the blame

Yeah. Like going off on their own backs and putting up the ads at the airports on the logging in Tasmania and such. I tend to ignore them, but Peg Putt is on the news, hear at least, more than the Prime Minister. Every time she's on the news I imitate her. "My fellow Australians, I am an idiot."

The way that's put... it sounds as though non-Americans are somehow inferior to citizens of the United States. :)

It's odd the hear the non-american opinions about american eletctions. It has nothing to do with inferiority.

Allow me to be sceptical. The economy was in pretty bad shape when Clinton came into office, but behold, you're not blaming Reagan or Bush (sr.)...

Oh, and really, the long-term economics stuff is bullshit. Sure, there's some things that don't change overnight, but given the importance of day-to-day action on the stockmarket, overnight changes do take place. Notice, for example, how the economy declined overnight after the Enron thing? And that sure as heck wasn't Clinton's doing.

(I'm not interested in defending Clinton or the democrats, BTW. I couldn't care less, really. I just get tired of people always insisting that it's the other party that's to blame)
