Strike Commander installation problems (Dosbox, Vista)

I can't install the game past disk 6, DosBox gives me a disk format error, even though using chkdsk in windows shows that nothing is wrong with the disk. I mounted the floppy correctly, with "mount a a:\ -t floppy"

Is there anything I can do? I paid quite a lot for this online, and I really don't want to have to buy another copy in hope of a working disk 6.

Not sure there, really. I don't think any Origin game had a really nasty copy protection on the media. However, I am not sure if Windows (or even diskcopy) does a proper copy of the disks.
In any case what do you have too loose? Its not like you are going to damage your originals or your PC. Worst case it won't work at all or have some strange in game effects (loosing fuel at alarming rates).

Well, thanks for the help. I didn't have any spare floppies, so I just made disk images of all eight disks, and that seemed to work. Don't seem to have the fuel copy-protection issue either.

(That's a really neat copy-protection thing, I think Operation:Flashpoint had a similar one, where your guns would become less and less accurate as time went on)

I have a copy of the CD version if you need a new image....
