Stealing WC

I recently went to google to find out some info on SW. I came to the star wars rpg site and i found in the ship list for the empire, <Long Breath>, the BEARCAT listed as a fighter and the MIDWAY as a 600m Escort Carrier. What gives? Also, there was no mention of the ships belonging to WC or their designs to Origin.
 
Yeah.. I've seen stuff like that before.. Some rather silly stuff. Not just WC stuff being relabeled.
 
Thats just kids taking stuff from other series and trying to make it applicable in SWRPG. They do it all the time because fanboys love to do stupid shit like crossovers and dressing up like Sailor Moon.
 
Yeah, I've seen this happen before. The freeware game Timewarp has a "Confederation Hornet" in it, and there was talk of relabeling it to hide its WC origins. Nothing ever came of it, because Timewarp never progressed.
 
I think StarControl TimeWarp... as a fan project it gets to be, is still rather... hmm.. playable.
 
The names Bearcat and Midway are not owned by Origin. There was a real life fighter named Bearcat, and Midway is an Island
 
Neither of which have been shown to exist in the Star Wars galaxy.

Besides, the use of "the" before both Bearcat and Midway, in the original post, suggests that they weren't just using the names, but the actual ships themselves. Which, as Crid noted, is hardly unusual in the SW fandom. (Nor, to be fair, the WC one, either, glancing at the various RPG-ish WC-based clubs out there. Yes, including the Aces Club, of which I'm a member.)
 
Huh? I'm confused, are you saying Star Wars takes place far in the future far away or Wing Commander takes far in the future far away? 'Cause SW takes place a long time ago and far away, as where WC takes place far in the future but not so far away. Or did I miss the entire point of your post in the first place? :confused:

Anyway, Mav, you were pretty close. Star Wars, to us, happened "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away". So to the Star Wars folks, our here and now is in their future, as our WW 2 Bearcat and Midway. And since Wing Commander is in our future, it is also in the Star Wars future. But Bob don't get it.
 
I understood it.

Since Star Wars is said to have happened a Long Time ago in a Galaxy far, far away, They are in the past (maybe at a time when Humans (Earth) were still living in caves. We are to the Star Wars universe, the "future" and as WC is in the future to us, it will also be to the Star Wars universe.
 
If I would ever see a WC ship in Star Wars, I would be really pissed off! But I'm allready pissed off to hear that you found some ships! George Lucas should think twice before he puts in WC ships! I choose Wing Commander above Star Wars. Wing Commander is more realistic than Star Wars! But I have to admit that fighting with a light saber is also rather cool.
Anyway, I'm not saying that Star Wars sucks, its cool, but I say Wing Commander is still one step ahead!
