In the days before instant movie news, Starlog magazine was a genre cinephile's best friend. From 1976 to 2009, Starlog offered in-depth print coverage of films like Star Trek, Star Wars... and, of course, Wing Commander! Starlog published three feature stories in two issues of the normal magazine, the first in #260 (March 1999) and the other two in #262 (April 1999.) Bonus: an image of the advertisement for their Wing Commander Official Movie Magazine! In addition to this coverage, Starlog also published a Wing Commander cover story in their "Sci-Fi Teen" spinoff magazine.

I sorta miss finding Starlog on magazine racks - but their photo captions are *really awful*.
 
I happened across an interview with one of the writers who covered Wing Commander for Starlog; they said they took the job because they wanted to interview Ron Cobb... who ended up not being involved.
 
I have nothing but respect for that man's efforts. Ron Cobb is a (gentle) giant of talent. He doesn't get the respect (or work) he richly deserves.
