I recenently aquired the DVD version (from the same person who gave me the WC4 DVD).
Anyway it requires a DVD player with MPEG 2 decoder. I figured that'd be any. It skips any movies in the game. I checked the DVD and they are not VOBs, most of them are MVE. I tried downloading a couple things from the Wing Commander 4 file section (that helped me get WC4 running) but to no avail.

I know this isn't the place but does anyone have any ideas?

More than likely you will have to buy some sort of codec to play them. I know for me I just upgraded my Nero copy to include the DVD playback and that did it fine. If you have NERO you can upgrade for like $20.
