Star Trek ToS, not so "Original"

Rumor has it that there is a new Star Trek movie due out Dec. 08... all I know is that only one member of the original cast reprises his role... I have no idea on anything else.. I've scanned the internet, but only found rumors and bits and pieces...

Not of this year... I believe it's slated for the end of next year. The cast has all been anounced and all we really know is that Leonard Nimoy has a small roll as an older spock but the actual movie is a prequel and is going to be directed by JJ abrams.

Here's the cast so far:
Chris Pines = young Kirk
Zachary Quinto = the young Spock.
Karl Urban = Dr. McCoy
Simon Pegg = engineer Scott
John Cho = helmsman Sulu
Zoe Saldana = communications officer Uhura
Anton Yelchin = navigator Chekov
Eric Bana is apparently playing the Villain.

The plot is supposed to revolve around the early days of the Enterprise's Crew, and the script is written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. The movie should start shooting next month and run till sometime in March.

So yeah, here's the plot (supposedly)

There's a small group of Romulans led by this Nero fellow who believe that the mightier than it currently is, they're extremists of sorts. They hatch a plan to go back in time and assassinate Captain James T. Kirk. Right after they go back in time, Spock gets wind of their plan and he goes back in time himself. So now the older Spock must work with the crew of the Enterprise (the new folks that they brought in) to stop Nero.

Thats cool, you know who I always thought would be a good Captain Pike? This is if they were going to make him the age he was in TOS, Frank Liotta. I dunno why, but he looks and sounds a lot like the guy who actually plays Pike.
