I had a similar problem with my Sound Galaxy 16 sound card. Every time I trird to install Privateer2 it would tell me the sound card could not be detected. I tried installing Dos drivers and that still didn't work. What I did to finally get it to work was instead of letting Priv2 auto detect my card, I set it up manually. I first checked what my settings were in Windows for the sound card ie. I/O, IRQ, DMA. Then when installing Privateer in Dos using sound manual detection, I chose the sound card setting ie. Sound Blaster 100% compatible to my card. You are then prompted to input an I/O address, IRQ setting, DMA setting. It should then work if you have no settings conflicts (which can be resovled in windows sound device propeties).
