So Microsoft lied. . . again. HELP!

I found the MyJEMM program yesterday, and I installed it as instructed. When I attempted to use it, I did not get an "error 2" message, but a message stating that I needed EMS memory. As I use WinME, I went to the Knowledge Base article it suggested, and followed it's instructions. Edited the system.ini as told, and nothing happened. OK, got a friend to make me a 98SE boot disk, just like the article suggested. Still nothing. Did Microsoft lie to me, or am I just incompetent. If so, can you give me some additional advice, please?

Well, I have windows 98, and to get myjemm working, I copied emm386.exe to my computer and then edited my config.sys file to add it at startup. The thing is, now myjemm runs, but it crashes randomly.

I am really in a hurry now, so I´ll be back tomorrow or Saturday to write down the proper files for you, if no one does that before me. In the meantime, check the "Privateer bootdisk" stuck thread and see if you can pull off cleaner autoexec.bat and config.sys from the tips given there.

Microsoft = Incmpetant & lazy (for having unleashed WinME upon the public in the first place).

You are certainly full of helpful information, aren't you? ME came with the HP I bought so I could have a system that had a good processor, as it was a 600 mHz jump in speed, and a 5x increase in memory. Still trying to sort out all the crap on the bootdisks.

Although it goes a bit tangent to the actual discussion.. I've found XP to be leaps and bounds superior to ME or even 98. At the sacrifice of some legacy support, you've got what I've seen to be the first real plug and play mainstream OS, much better stability and memory handling and terrific automatic (troubleshooting/networking/etc) features.
