However i cant calibrate my ch flightstick pro joystick without it crashing, i know its a comon problem with joysticks, but dose anyone know how i can get this particualr Joystick to work

big shiney golden star and huge thanks to anyone that can help

Cheers

Chris

patch it

i know you've gone a long way with patching, but one more should help. there's a patch that adds "native support for CH Flightstick Pro and Thrustmaster joysticks", according to its info file. you can find that patch at "https://www.wcnews.com/files.shtml#wcpriv2". Hope this works for you pal.

still tearing my hair out over joystick problems

Hey Toben

thanks a bunch mate for the help, ran the patch, unfortuantly the problems still there, if the joysticks in it gose streight to callibration upon flight and as soon as you hit exit it locks up, if the joysticks not in (and its set to mouse) same problem.

Rather strange as using alt o should take you to the option screen, but it keeps taking me streight to callibration.

Any further help would be great, really loved this game and an very keen to get amongst it again

Cheers

Chris

Thanks nappydman

the problem is though that as soon as you go into flight it automatically gose into its own callibration screen and crases. No matter water. Apparently its a comon bug in the patch, and a way around it is altering the Dark.cfg file to calibrate it that way.

However i cant find the callibration paramaters for the CH flightstick (y450 x789 etc...).

Really appriciate all the time people are giving in helping me, much appriciated really want to play this fantastic game again.

Cheers

Chris

appologise about the above offences on the english language (i'm pritty sure that is spelt wrong as well), must have been a messy day.

Basically insted of using alt o to enter an options menu (and just selecting a flightstick), for some reson that function takes you stright into callibration

I'm using orignal CD's with the win95, and slowdown patch.

Cant seem to find a game that is even as close to being invoking as i rember this being.

All right. Try setting it up in Windows and the game as a straight stupid old 2-axis 2-button joystick. If that doesn't work, wait and I'll see how it goes on my system. I've got a CH Flightstick which has worked for years, and I'll set up a fresh installation with no patches on my system to try and get that raw xy data for you.

Cheers Nappydman

you're a star, let us know how you get on real keen to get this sorted sure i might be able to find somthing fun for you.

All right, here's what I've come up with. I'm running P2 on Windows 98SE instead of W95, but that probably shouldn't be making any difference here. I've got a CH Flightstick instead of a Flightstick Pro, but hopefully there should be enough similarities to get you going.
Dark.cfg

JoyOn 0
Throttle 0
Joy Dead 0.100000
Joy cx 226
Joy cy 233
Joy lx 8
Joy ly 8
Joy rx 445
Joy ry 458

This is not exact, however. The y axes are all perfect, but as you of course have found out, P2 is a little dodgy on joysticks, and this configuration still has my craft spinning to the left. All I had to do then was use the little trim knob on the bottom of my joystick to adjust it so it's centered. (I love that little trim knob. It's the reason I'm still using this ancient joystick, and you're lucky you've got one too.) You could also try messing with the x values, but I didn't feel like quitting the game and restarting it over and over to find good values.

Hopefully that should at least give you a solid base to work with!

Hello,

I just quit playing around with the (patched to) Win 95 version and installed the Game under Dos, made a Bootdisk and it is running fine and without any Problems. Luckily the Forte PCI-Soundcard with a FM801 chip comes with a Dosdriver and runs very well as a Soundblaster Pro.
