Slowing a 133 Mhz machine down to a 386

Sounds funny in a day when we keep trying to go faster. I just bought a copy of WC I&II to review the good old days with my son. The "Slow" instructions from the package don't work. Does anyone know how I can manually slow my machine down?

Thanks for all help,

Kermit

There´s two ways to do that, you can use them separate or combined.

1st: Turn the cache memory off in the computer BIOS

2nd: Try the "Moslo" software (slowdown utility), available at the files section of the CIC: https://www.wcnews.com/files.shtml

That should solve your problem, it worked for me.

I don´t know. Anyway, the only WC games that require Moslo are WC1, WC2 and WCA. AFAIK, those games will run only in DOS so there is no point in trying Moslo in WinXP or 2000.

Moslo is the winner. It provides excellent control of the processor speed and in my case is done without having to even touch the cache.

Thanks to all for your suggestions,

Kermit
