Slowdowns in KS

Hi, I'm new here and have a problem:

When I try to run any of the wc's in Kilrathi Saga, the music is veryslow and unfluid. I'm not sure about the game itself. It runs pretty fine, but might have some slowdowns too.

It think this may have something to with with my CD-Rom drive. It hasn't been working properly lately...anyway, is there anything I can do? Is there some way to copy the whole game to my hard drive so that I don't need to use my aging CD drive?

BTW, it used to work fine.

If your soundcard works fine with your other games, the problem is either your KS CDs or your CD-rom drive. If it is the CDs, I am VERY sorry :( , if it´s the CD-rom drive, you will need to buy a new one.

Why don´t you try installing KS on another computer and see if it works fine? If it does, the problem is not in your CDs.

No it wouldn't. Have you ever read the System Requirement for games. I have never seen any program requiring over 8x CD-ROM. A 24x is three times faster than the requirement. Remember programs can only run as fast as they are program to run. That why for some games need you to slow down the CD-ROM.

Oh' and today games with full install only play the movie cut scene from the CD-ROM.
