for some reason wing commander prophecy works on windows xp by itself.. how come the Secret Ops addon wont work? i got an error saying Secret Ops.exe error.. Why does that happen? it is not compadable with windows xp? i have the downloaded version from long time ago when they had free to download.. can that be the problem? i have to buy the whole cd addon?

Thanks,

You must have a non-english Windows version. I have a french Windows XP and have the same problem about having no shortcut in the start menu. Just make a shortcut manually on your desktop. (find the main .exe and right-click "copy" on it, and then right-click on your Windows desktop and select "Paste shortcut"). Then add a compatibility setting to it. (right-click on your newly created shortcut, click on the "compatibility" tab, check the first check box and select Windows 95 or 98. Then click ok.)

Note that you may have to apply a compatibility setting on SETUP.EXE too, (in your installed SO folder) so you can run it and select your video card preference.

It works fine on my Win XP system, I can play Secret Ops and Prophecy with no problem.
