WC Saga has posted screenshots of its "main hall" ready room that serves as the central launching point to the game's various areas. Doors and console lead to different menu options, and fighters occasionally fly by the flight control window. You can find more screenshots here.

We have tried to make the main hall a compelling hub for the game that provides ambiance and atmosphere. We have tried to pay close attention to detail so that when you “step into” the main hall, you will feel the buzz and cadence of life aboard a space-borne carrier.

I like it.

Based on my own experiences with this stuff, it's hard to convey just how *huge* these facilitys have to be.
A simple Longbow bomber is easely the size of a two story house- just imagine how big a working hangar (even a small one) has to be.
Next to that, a crewmen sitting at a workstation seems ridiculously tiny.

I like the screenshots--we certainly see just as much empty space in the various gameflow screens in the games.

... but whoever writes the ad copy for Saga needs to be shot into a leopard. A compelling hub for the game that provides ambiance and atmosphere? The buzz and cadence of life aboard a space-borne carrier? And that's just from the version Chris cut blissfully short.

Something bothered me about this and it took me a while to figure it out...

...the perspective on the stairs leading to the door at the botom is wrong. They're entirely too "steep".

I don't have a problem with the angle. But the fuzzy texture on the flight deck makes the plane of the floor seem like it's not low enough to match the bottom of the stairwell.

Ladder-stairs possibly? the (very) few military ships I have visited had these.

Agree with AD, its a bit hard to tell how big and what level the deck is, but I am still impressed.

Clearly you haven't been on many naval ships. Speaking as one who has seen a couple of modern nuclear submarines a WWII gato class sub, a WWII battleship, and a couple of destroyers. I assure you, if that is what they are going for, they are fine.

I think that was probably my favorite (GASP!) part of the Wing Commander Movie...those ships FELT like military ships, especially the pipe (sway bar?) mounted to the ceiling of the bridge. Everything was cramped and crowded, and I liked that.

I'm assuming you're either a willful idiot or someone who hasn't taken his medication if you don't understand what I'm suggesting is *badly proportioned artwork*, you impersonal collection of inanimate hardware.

Hey now, such rudeness is uncalled for, and hardly does you credit. I understood you perfectly. I'm trying to tell you that on naval ships, or any boat for that matter, stairs are so steep that they are practically ladders, and in that light the "proportions" are fine. Now on second look, Ill admit what could be missing is hand railings.

But quite frankly, I think I have been baited by your trolling quite enough. This is the last you will hear from me on the matter.
