Discovery is airing an 8 part documentary about the rise of the video game culture tonight at 8pm EST.

If it wasn't the biggest bar night of the year I'd probably watch it, but one has to be thankful for DVR.
 
Thanksgiving Eve is the bigest bar night of the year? Not St. Patricks' Day? Cinco de Mayo? New Year's Eve?
 
Nope. Thanksgiving Eve sees more overall traffic than the other nights. I was surprised when I first heard it too, but I've heard it from a variety of sources (radio and bar owners/employees). With everybody home for the holidays it provides for the busiest night.
 
Well I just a Google search for "Thanksgiving Eve bar night" and almost every return included "Biggest bar night of the year is here..." or something along those lines. I'm not sure how it beats out those other days either but it is a thought I've heard over and over over the years.
 
Also searching for "biggest bar night of the year" all the results have to do with Thanksgiving eve.
 
It's a mini-series? Oh crap. I watched the episode where they were talking about Pong and Pac-Man and I flipped the channel thinking "Big whoop, already read about it a million times before..."
