Recruiting for Star Trek PBeM sim that will launch in the FSF

Greetings everyone. I thought this would be a good place to advertise for a Star Trek PBeM (Play-By-eMail) sim that will be launching in the FSF (Federation Sim Fleet).

Here is a brief synopsis of the sim and the first mission I have planned:

The year is 2294. The grand exploration era of Starfleet is passing. Now the Federation must seek to control the balance of power in the Alpha Quadrant. Captain Kirk and his contemporaries have passed the torch to a new ere of Starfleet officers. Now the Starship Excalibur has been tasked with continuing the mission. Under the command of Captain Joshua Dworkin, the Excalibur will scout the far reaches of known space to preserve and protect the Federation.

CURRENT MISSION:
AVALON RISING
The Excalibur has just been launched from spacedock on her shakedown cruise. In the Gamma Trianguli System, renegade Orion pirates have hijacked a civilian passenger liner and are holding ir hostage. While contending with mechanical difficulties and a rookie crew, the Excalibur suddenly finds itself on active duty,tasked with finding the pirates and rescuing the hostages before the ransom deadline passes.

What, exactly, is so hard to understand about the fourth rule for these forums?

You know, what two threads have been closed for in the past week alone, and for which the people who started them have been banned.

And besides that, is it really that freaking hard to come up with a name for your "Gary Stu" (male version of "Mary Sue", as I understand it) character that isn't just recycling your own name?
 
Isn't the Excalibur Peter David's 'Star Trek New Frontier' ship?

I don't especially care whether or not you're plugging your RPG, but I do agree with Death about the Mary Sue bit -- we just kind of groan when we see another {Hero Rank} Dworkin...
 
Well, all my other RPG characters in Star Trek have different names, I wanted just once to have the character really be me. I always wanted to put myself in the game.
 
Which is okay (if not perhaps great), in and of itself. But "put[ting] myself in the game" doesn't have to be done by making your fictional counterpart the Grand Poobah™, All-Around Great Guy™, or otherwise the Greatest Bestest Person In The Whole Universe™. It certainly doesn't help that everyone is just recycling your own RL name.
 
Yeah, but my character is simply the Captain. He's not special, he just happens to be in charge. And as far as I know, all the other crew names are fictional.
 
But then again, (according to your sig) you also have another named-after-yourself character in a different RPG who happens to be an Admiral :p.
 
Yeah, he's an Admiral because I help run AAO. I'm the Deputy CINC. My character didn't start out as an Admiral.
