Hello!

I just bought WC3. That's great news, I now have all the Wing Commander Saga at home! But I asked myself, will WC3 work on XP??? If not, is there a patch available or a solution to make it work???

Thanks,
Nicolas.

It should work - if it doesn't, try setting Win95 compatibility mode.

If you have any serious problems, feel free to ask for help.

Hello again!

Thanks for your help. I should receive my parcel next week, I'll tell you if I have a problem or not...

Thanks again,
Nicolas...

The question asked was "will WC3 work on WinXP?" Most sensible people would resolve the anaphor "it" with the antecedent "WC3", given that WC3 is the subject of the question.

He already does
I said serious problems. Neeco does not appear to have even tried starting WC3 yet.

Dude, I KNOW. IT WAS A JOKE. COME ON.

I said serious problems. Neeco does not appear to have even tried starting WC3 yet.

Why wouldn't him feel free to talk about non-serious problems here?

It might. But you'll probably be left with only video, no sound nor joystick...

The DOS box emulation only handles serial/parallel ports as accessible hardware. There are drivers (like VDMS) that give you audio hardware emulation in the DOS box as well.

Of course, your best bet still is to use something like VMWare and install DOS into a virtual machine. At least VMWare offers a more complete PC hardware emulation. (No 3D accelleration, though).

The original DOS version should work fine, except without sound support and joystick. I got it running perfectly on XP, except for sound and joystick.

Hello!

I just got my CDs and the game seems to work but I have problems with the sound (stutters)... any ideas how i could solve the problem?

Thanks,
Nicolas
