Purchasing an old sound card...

Well, I think this is the only possibility I have to play Privateer 1 in all it's glory. Someone said not to get a PCI because they cause problems with old DOS, so what about a Sound Blaster 16, ISA card? They're only a few bucks.

Currently I have a SBLive. The music works but the sound causes Privateer to freeze up. Anyways, what's your suggestion?
 
Actually, Privateer has no problems with PCI cards.

Your problem is likely caused by an incorrect IRQ specification or too much EMS memory. You can limit the EMS memory by adding "16384" (minus quotes) to the EMM386 line in your config.sys.
