Hi guys, I'm trying to run Prophecy Gold, but I'm having some trouble with the movies: they both run too fast and skip. I went to Origin's Prophecy tech support site and it said that this may be a problem with the sound card (I've got a SB Live 5.1), but their suggestion did not work (no "Full Duplex" setting on the SBLive that I can find) with this card. I know the problem isn't the CD drive because I've run the movies right off the hard drive with the same problem. If anybody knows a fix to this movie problem I'd greatly appreciate if they could help me out. Thanks.

This is a problem which the normal fixes usually won't work. The SBLive cards using Liveware 3.0 have a compatiablity problem with Directx8. I sent a email to CL support about this problem and they email me back telling me to use directx 7a. To do this means reinstalling the OS.
Something you can try is to first download this file "sblw9xup" Dated 050500 from CL. This will fix some of these problems. Next do a find file for "DXDiag" and disable the sound hardware accellation. If the movie does not approve you can wait and hope that CL will release Liveware 4.0 (which we don't know if they will or if it we fix these problems) or get another sound. I am sure there are members here whom would be happy to offer suggests on which card to get.
You can also check for MB BIOS and chipset updates. You might get lucky.
I currently have a SBLiveP card. I read a rummor on CL newsgroup that LW 4 is due out this July. If it's not release by than I will most likely get a new card.
