Prophecy in Win2k and other ponderables

"Prophecy.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. you will need to restart the program. An error log is being created."

This lovely error pops up while I'm playing, after booting me out during gameplay. Now, I have the Prophecy Win2000 patch and I've tried Win Compatibility mode. At best it yields about 10 minutes of gameplay before kicking me to the curb. Any ideas?

Hmm. Are you running in direct3d or glide? If you only tried d3d so far, you might want to check whether it crashes in glide as well.
