Hi everyone,

Found my old Prophecy Gold CDs the other day, and have been desperate to get the game working....

Trying to run on Windows Vista-64. The intro movies play absolutely fine, but I cannot get to any of the in-flight gameplay at all. Whether it's straight from the Combat Simulator, or trying to get through a normal mission, it just crashes to Desktop everytime with either an
"Iff:iff open file audio/speech\040000000.iff not found and not optional" or just a "prophecy.exe has stopped working" message

I've tried installing/un-installing/re-installing many times, and cannot get it to run. I've tried all the different patches, running compatability mode, etc etc. I've even tried installing it on my sister's XP laptop, and still the same problem persists!

Can anyone help, or give a current and updated list of recommended steps for a fresh install??

Please please help!
Daniel

Actually, disabling the In-Flight Comms has made it work ok.... does anyone know why this might be?

Right, now as another update, anytime in flight, trying to communicate with anyone causes a crash back to desktop, this is so frustrating!! Please can someone advise??

Do you have compatibility mode set? I noticed you didn't mention it.

For additional crash message info you should turn on error messaging...I believe you can activate it by going into the Control Panel and look for the panel that has to do with system messages (sorry I don't know the exact one) and it will actually provide somewhat useful info concerning what caused the crash.

It sounds like the file it can't find is causing the crash though. Hopefully soon one of the local tech gurus can provide more help.
