Prophecy Disc 2 issue

Here's the problem. After completing the cruiser mission in G'wriss I switch the discs and then it plays the funeral scene. Immediately following that it gets a fatal error that reads

Iff:Iff open file 'gameflow\mouse_f.iff' not found and not optional

If I try to launch the game from disc 2 I get this error

Iff:Iff open file 'game\cdlayout.iff' not found and not optional


I've tried using both of my WCP disc 2's (Gold and standard) with the same results.

Any ideas?

It sounds like the game is having trouble accessing the required data files. You could try copying DATA.TRE, GF.TRE, GF2.TRE, and GF3.TRE to your Prophecy directory (these contain the gameflow and game sub-directories), but given that you've already tried it with two sets of official discs, I'm not sure if that would help. Still, I suppose it's worth a try.

Yeah, I would have said scratched discs, but if it's both, it's probably something corrupted. I'd try completely removing it and reinstalling.

Hmm, alright. That is a good possibility, with the different versions of HCl's enhancement pack and other things going on in my WCP dir.

I'll give it a try later this week and hope for the best.

It's possible you needed a file named gameflow with "mouse_f.iff" and "cdlayout.iff" in it. You could have extracted in from your data.tre using Treman. That's what I do. But you got passed the error anyway so don't bother listening to me.
