Problems Installing Privateer 1

Hi,
does anybody know how to install Privateer 1?
As I have the original Floppy-Disk and try to install, I get the message:
"Insert the LAST disk of the backup set- Press any key when ready"
I tried to insert all floppies, but after a certain time I get the messages:
"PKUNZIP (W04): Warning: Error in privater.zip using PKUNZIP"

I tried on different machines, also slower ones, but always the same result

can anyone help me with a faq or so?

thanks

Hi, it is an original vesion of 5 floppies, the first has install.exe, pkunzip.exe and - sorry for this spelling-error - privater.zip with only one e. The other Disks contain only a privater.zip file.

tried it as well to install on a machine Pentium 75MHz and DOS 5.0, then the error-msg is a simple 'error 5'.

As I have lost the installation-manual it might be helpfull if someone could post me some simple textlines with the instruction howto install.

thanks a lot

Norbert

I tried to do so, but with all privater.zip files the same result: seems not to be a valid zip-file. But I can hardly believe all 5 floppies contain corrupted zip-files but can be copied to the hard drive with no problem...?

Maybe I try to download a newer pkunzip? What is the memory-konfiguration needed for Privater 1. and the DOS version? and is it possible to run it on FAT32? Maybe the solution is in one of those questions?

The memory-configuration or the FAT32 doesn´t have to do with the error of unzipping, maybe is the Pkunzip or the Files try with Winzip or other thing.
If you can buy the Cd version, do it, it comes with the expansion (Righteous Fire) and speech pack.

Ive just downloaded a newer version of pkunzip (2.5), the same result.

What does the installation-guide tell? just start install.exe and leave everything on default should work, or am I that completely wrong?
