problem with running priv on my athlon 1.4

I´ve got the problem that my priv doesn´t work because of the jemm. i created himem and i still need help.now i´m trying to create a bootdisk but this seems not to be that easy.
It woeld be nice if someone could help me.
 
You don´t need only himem to play Privateer, you also need Expanded memory, which is generated by a file called emm386.exe.

Try adding the following line under the himem.sys line in config.sys:

device=c:\windows\emm386.exe 16384 RAM

If it does not work, please post your autoexec.bat and config.sys here, along with your computer´s specs and operating system version.
 
boot disk

Most of the newer versions of Windows suck for making a boot disk.

You need to find a Win98 machine or older to make one (easily). There are some places you can download the system files for a boot disk, but...

Read the readme.txt that came with Privateer. It gives you the correct emm386 settings to use.

BTW- my biggest problem lies with the sound card, not JEMM. It is a JEMM error that pops up (200-Dff or some shiest like that), but simply disable sound and it works flawlessly.
 
Please identify yourselves. If this thread go on it might be hard to know which unregistered user needs help.
