I have had an annoying problem with privateer 2 under windows 98se recently, where it came up with the error "the instruction at 200015cf referenced memory at fffffff. The memory could not be read from. Click ok to terminate the application."
I tried doing lots of things, like rebuilding the entire pc, but Installing winME seemed to stop the problem.
I am using an old toshiba laptop, intel 266, 32 meg ram, yamaha opl3 sa3 sound card, and the windows version of priv 2. Any ideas for how to get it working on windows 98? WinME is fine, but I miss the dos mode. There are the various hacks for winME to get dos back, but it has trouble loading himem.sys and emm386, which is no good for privateer 1!
