Privateer

Does having a game port that is not connected to a sound card cause any problems in Privateer as far as joystick detection. I have an old dos joystick and everytime that I boot into DOS to play Privateer, it doesn't detect my joystick and I get blown to bits when I try to use the keyboard. Anyone got any info or suggestions?

yes you must havea gameport conected to a sound card if not you can´t use the joystick

Ok, I now have an old 100 Mhz pentium with a gameport built into the sound card, I've added set blaster-a220 i5 d1 into my autoexec.bat and i am still having trouble getting it to detect my joystick. Does anyone have anymore advice???

do you have your soundcard into the config.sys
when you play do you hear something ????

I got it working then, I downloaded the dos drivers for the sound card, which had a program to activate the sound card and gameport when in dos. Thanks for the help Ghost
