Privateer One

I recently bought the old Privateer game from my friend who no longer wanted it, but for some reason I can't get it to run. I tried running in pure DOS, MS-DOS window, and even trying to patch it with a system file designed for it work in windows, but it still doesn't seem to work currectly. Is there any possible way to fix this problem, or should i just throw the game away?

can you give us more information? The game will only run in ms-dos mode, not in a dos window. perhaps you could post your autoexec.bat and config.sys? you can take a look at some other boot disk configurations in other posts. What sound card do you have? sound problems is another issue that seems to crop up a lot where privateer is concerned.
