Privateer on windows98

Using a boot disk generally works pretty well. If you have that neato CD version in the crappy "gold" box, then you don't even need that since it'll just drop to DOS when you choose to run the game.

And you can get Windows Version of Privateer 2 on eBay for cheap anyway.

For privateer 2, same thing, but if I can get one off ebay, I think I will do that. I think I will also check if privateer is there too, thanks fo rhte info.

I have a few other questions, I plan to run it on my laptop, I just recovered my machine and do not use autoexec or any other dos part when booting the machine. Any problem with this?

Also, I forgot whether its possible to just use the mouse - I have no joystick.

Got Privateer working, but the mouse (Trackpoint)...

I got privateer working.

The trouble right now is, every button I press, from the mouse left and right to the enter button leads to the console, I cannot go anywhere, no launch nor enter the base...

I con't have a joystick. I think I also need a ps2 mouse (SHOCK, only USB...)

If there any solution to this?

But then...

No button I use can get me anywhere. The C and enter button work, going into the console, not much else...

duh....

Anyway, I continue to fiddle around.

I somehow have been able to enter the base area. I dunno what button I pressed.

Stinger, would you mind passing me a list of the buttons avaible for use on the keyboad in privateer?

Do you not have DOS drivers for your mouse? Check the manufactores web site for drivers.

My mouse tis USB

I am using a laptop for playing. The trackpoint mouse works. But so far all buttons I use go into the console. Somehow using the spacebar with another button (or is it?) I got into the base area, but have not been able to run around again...

Is this Privateer you're referring to? Pressing both mouse buttons simultaneously will send you to the personal computer screen.

Is nearly the only place I can access whether its using C, enter, or any mouse button. i called it the console, its the other places including the damn ship that I cant enter.
