Privateer issues in XP

I have a slew of problems with XP so I'm gonna place each one in a different post to avoid confusion. I have a P4 running WinXP, with a Geforce 3 graphics card and a SBLive! sound card.

When I try to start Privateer it brings up a DOS screen that says "Protected mode driver is not responding to EMS function calls. Make sure your EMS driver is not configured with the NOEMS option. If it is, replace the option "NOEMS" with "RAM"". I've tried the whole gambit of compatibility settings and EMS setting to no avail. Any Ideas?

I have same problem. Only solution is make a boot disk with devicehigh=emm386.exe ram 16384 i=b000-b7ff line in config.sys.

Priv doesn´t run in XP nor Win9X, it runs only in DOS true mode

Even thde gold CD-rom Classics version (which is the one I have)?
