Privateer in 98 with Moslo

ok I got Privateer 2 loaded and it runs great movies, voices, I was so excited then I took off in my ship and the pirates and other ships are zipping around so damn fast you can't target them.
I have Molso Deluxe to slow down my computer and even with it set at 1% , I don't notice a difference from setting it at 50%.

Everything else works great I would hate to have come this close to playing priv 2 again only to fail. Any ideas would be appreciated

Do you use the DOS or the Windows version of P2?
The Windows version won't work with MOSLO. Use turbo instead.
 
Sorry guess I should have been a little more specfic. I'm using Privateer 2 Deluxe on a system I built to play older games.

Intel PII 500
Windows 98SE
GEForce 2

I'm using Molso deluxe and I'm sure it isn't working at all, I've tried Turbo its choppy jerky, and Ive tried cpukiller and it works for about 15 minutes and then speeds back up to normal speed.

...?There's a "Deluxe" version of Moslo?...

If so, what's the diff 'twixt that and the "regular" version?...

handor: If you Alt-Tab between P2 and Turbo, you'll have the chance to work your way to an acceptable speed. I'd say... 45-50 in space seems like a good starting point (50-60 was ok for my P2 450), and you should be able to use 100 planetside without problems.
 
Assuming it's Privateer 2 Deluxe, you could just use the slowdown patch which is, I believe, on HCl's Page

If it's DOS P2, you could install OriginalTHP's little W9x update thing that was recently mentioned in the news. The full package includes the slow down patch.
 
Why bother at all? Privateer 2 wasn't really worth the effort, in my opinion. I didn't find it fun; only annoying. And it lacked the WC feel, and REALLY lacked the feel of Priv 1, which, IMO, is one of the best games known to man. Priv 2 was just bad.
 
Ok well thanks I didn't realize it was so bad I think I'll just throw it in the garbage. Why did you reply to this post I was looking for help in getting the game to run not taking a poll to see if there were yahoo's out who didn't like the game.

But CPUKiller works for you? It's a 15 minute trial, that's why it speeds up. If none of the other suggestions work, you could consider registering the software.
