I have tried the Real Dos patch for winme 3.1...still having trouble getting it to run...locks up from the dos command. anyone out there get it to run on winme yet?
 
Are you running from a DOS box, or rebooting to DOS? It will only run from pure DOS. You'll probably need to use a bootdisk too.
 
i am booting using the dos patch for winme...since winme doesn't have a true dos and emm386 should i just wipe the drive and load my old copy of win 98 SE that i bought for my previous computer?
 
You'll probably need a bootdisk regardless of what Windows version you're running. I'd go with a bootdisk.
 
kris, i am familiar with creating boot discs but i am not sure about memory allocation with my current pc...do you have any specs regarding memory allocation?
 
Browse through some of the old threads, 90% of them are about bootdisks for Privateer. The EMM line is probably the most important one. If you can't figure it out by looking at working configs, just make a bootdisk and post the contents of your autoexec.bat and config.sys.
 
Hi slam10. Yes I am running ME, but I play Privateer on boot disks, it is much easier than trying to coax the DOS out of ME.

I have made my disks available here.
Try them out and let me know if they work for you. :)
