Privateer and DOS

How do I get around the JEMM Dos error "code EA01-FFFF, Program halted by code, JEMM unloaded" I configured it once many years ago ( EMM386) but don't remember how. I'd love to play it again. I've wanted to for years and finally bought an old DOS computer but I still can't play it.

(the "bad" news: some dude invented a patch a month ago and now Privateer works in Windows 95, 98 and ME) :D
