Privateer 2 with Sidewinder GamePad?

I installed the game under WinXP, and after a few hours, it works. But I got some problems with the Microsoft Sidewinder Gamepad. I can´t calibrate it at the beginning of the first flight. Does Privateer 2 work with Microsoft Sidewinder Gamepad? Or do I have to install any extra-drivers for the gamepad? Any ideas?

I think your Gamepad doesnt support DOS at all so..... there are no dirvers for it in DOS.... :(

I dont know what you cant do .... :(

Dont forget that Privateer 2 is a pure DOS game and doesnt support everything Windows does

Í think the problem is, that Dos only works with analog Gamepad and Microsoft Sidewinder is a digital one. But I´ve heard about a program that switches the gamepad to analog, have you heard about that? Or do you know anybody who plays Privateer 2 with sidewinder gamepad?
