Privateer 2 Memory Problem

I have a copy of Privateer 2, the win 95 ver. I am running on xp and when i run the installation program, the program tells me that I don't have enough memory on my hard drive when I close to 2 gb available. I have tried running a shortcut, that is using the win 95 compatibiliy, to the installation program and the program still tells me I don't have enough space on my hard drive. Any advice would be greatly appriciated,
 
There is a site somewhere with more specific help. I don't remember where it is, though. For this particular issue, it was suggested that you create the installation directory (C:\Dark) before running the installation. There was a slowdown-patch too... HCl (who else?) has it on his site. If there isn't a link listed somewhere on this site, some people need to be shot. :) That, or you can check out www.wcrevival.de.
To get some neat launcher thingy you had to download something, (from the site with the above mentioned instructions) copy the entire CD1 to your HD, run the download, which edits something you'll then burn to another CD. Party.
