Alright - I havn't played this game in centries it seems like, but after alot of tinkering, I 'finally' have Privateer 2 running on my XP Home system. Everything works except the joystick. The joystick I have is a Logitech Wingman Extreme. I know the joystick works, as I have WC1/2 and WCP installed on my system, and they all use it fine.
When it goes to calibrate - the grey dot is on the far upper left hand corner of the screen, and nothing I can do can move it. What happens next is dependent on if the patch is installed or not. WithOUT the patch installed, once I got into spaceflight I would be in a spin that I couldn't get out of - no control over the craft. With the patch installed, once I get into spaceflight I am actually flying staright and level - but the joystick dosnt' respond. I've modified the dark.cfg file the way it has said to in other websites, both w/ and w/o the patch installed to no avil. For those interested, with the calibration the program gives me, all the variables cs, lx, ry, etc, are all set at 4000. Any help to get this game running with this joystick would be appricated!
