Ok, here's the problem. I finally got Privateer 2 to run on DosBox .72, but I cannot get the joystick to calibrate. I searched the Tech Support forum and only found two threads related to this and the ideas on fixing this problem didn't help that much. My system specs are: Intel Celeron 1.8 Ghz, 512 mb ram, 128 mb radeon 9200, microsoft sidewinder precision. I have installed the update for the dos version of the game. Any help would be great. You should let us know the things you tried so we don't repeat the suggestions. Do you get an error when you try to calibrate or are the controls just off? What are your joystick settings in DOSBox.conf? You should try various joysticktype, time and swap34 options to see if you get different results.
Ok, I took the suggestions that you mentioned and got the joystick calibration to work. What I did was edit the dosbox config file and changed the timed and swap32 values to true and I am using 4 axis as the joystick type. Auto Fire is off and buttonwrap is true.
