privateer 2 deluxe solution for xp

hello everybody,

It seem that a lot of people have problems with privateer 2 on xp.

Try Microsoft Virtualpc 2007! (freeware) All you need is a windows98.
Virtualpc create a virtual machine with standard soundcard and videocard,
Install windows98 then privateer2 and it works! There is some kind of troubles when landing on a planet: game slow down and got video bugs but simply save game and reload it fix that, better than can t play at all!

I've used it at work (for Internet Explorer 6 testing), and it seems to work well for that, but it's not available for Windows XP Home users. Plus, one does need a copy of DOS or Windows 9x on top of that.

But I suspect it is a reasonable solution for those who do have WinXP Professional or Vista and don't want to bother setting up an old machine.
