Privateer 1 controls

When I go into Privateer 1 and try to get my DOS joystick, the game does not see it. I tried making sure, for some stupid reason, that it is setup correctly in windows before I reboot in DOS. If anyone has any ideas they would be appreciated.

Does pressing CTRL+J help? In WC games, it's usually the Joystick calibration function... I don't know if it's in Privateer though.

You're lucky you can get it to work though. Mine won't work at all. Some problem or something to do with a .vol file or something.
 
I'll give it a try, any other recommendations??? Just incase it doesn't work???

What kind of stick is it? Are you sure it's a dos stick? Are you sure it's not a digital stick? You might want to go out and buy a cheap $5 used stick just for priv.
 
It's an old PC commander, I got it from K-Mart. It worked in Privateer before. I also tryed using a saitek cyborg, which is not digital and I got the same thing.
