Priv2 save game files?

Where do I find the save game files in privateer 2? I want to back them up before I start tinkering with DOSBox and a few other things.....the c:dark folder is mostly image files. Is there a certain file extension I should look for? Like Niskin.svg or *.sav or something of that sort that I can use to search with? I am quite a ways along in the game again and some of the things I have made it through were pretty tough. Would hate to lose it while I switch over from the xp patched version to DOSBox and back etc.

Game00.IFF and so on are the savegame files.

Never noticed those before because they show up as paint files for some strange reason ~~~

You must have associated them like that at some point. You can change that in Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, File Types.
