I've spent the last few days pouring over the tech support forum here searching for any possible help to my issue with WC4.

Found nothing, everyone who has had issues are the exact opposite of mine, so I'd thought I'd try posting and see what you all think.

Okay, so have the 6 cd DOS version (all iso's) which I installed through DosBox. No issues. Used the win95 upgrade patch. No problem. (tested the game in both versions separate installs. looks like crap but plays flawlessly - mean dated not glitch-wise)

Now, used the CD to DVD version conversion/upgrade patch - installed without issue. All VOB files are extracted and in place (I can watch them with no problem outside the game with any player I have on my system)

I launch the WC4DVD.exe (and have tried all compatibility modes. ALL of them. lol) the dolby movie plays, the into movie plays, the first 2 "choice" cut scenes play (no trouble making a choice or skipping right to decisions, all works fine) then after whichever choice "this pisses me off"/"Ain't my business" ends and the game should load the spaceflight sequence, I CTD. Every time. I can post the fault details if needed.

I've managed to get Prophecy to run (thanks to all the great folks here and all their patches) with everything enabled and it looks just FANTASTIC! and I have WC3 running too, I'm just missing the middle here with WC4.

System Specs:

Vista 32-bit
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53 Ghz
3 Gig RAM
Radeon HD 5450 1 Gig vid card

A couple quick suggestions:

Make sure that you have set the compatability mode on WC4DVD.exe to win95/98.

Second, it could be a conflict between the game and your software DVD player. Do you by any chance have any cyberlink software installed? You can try running from the WC4 directory register.bat . You may even have to do it several times, and then see if the game stops crashing.

Have tried the win95/98 compats - same CTD

I checked and as far as I can tell no, no Cyberlink software at all on my pc

and tried the register.bat many times - still no luck
