No Sound effects or voices in WC3

Is there a button in the game that toggles the sound effects on and off? My brother was playing the game and seemed to have pushed a button that turned the sound effects off. :(
 
Yeah, check out the Main Terminal while about the Victory or press ALT+O while in space flight.

You can also revisit the installation program by typing WC3 -i at the CD prompt.
 
When I press Alt- O nothing happens. What does the ship's main terminal have to do with the sound?
