Is it too overpower?

Remember: It can take waves of fighers from WC games, but it's suposed to be 58 years after WCP
 
The ship seems horribly underprotected - there's less armor than on a Prophecy-era medium fighter :)

It's new armor values: 450/450cm, and 700/700cm shields.
 
Fighter's Story

The Titan was first developed by a research team trying to work in the newest generation of superfighers to face Kilrathi's Bloodfang VII, the UBW Hawk, the Nephilim remaints' Demon Squid, and to replace the mass-production Dragon II as Confed's main heavy fighter. The Dragon II was put in production when the Nephilim took Proxima system, and were vital for the victory at the Second Battle of Terra, when the two testing squadrons got more than one hundred Nephilim fighters and six capships, including a Kraken ship killer, in the six days that the battle lasted.
The Dragon II was effective during the war, but it's Anti-Nephilim specialization showed it's problems at the Gemini Secession, where they suffered heavy losses. The Titan then was modified to be a heavy fighter with various weaponry to execute various missions. It was the first fighter to use the Striker cannons.

That thing has too many frigging guns, and a lot of old-tech guns at that. I don't see HOW it keeps the maneuverability with that gun loadout - the reactors to drive that alone would probably cut your maneuverability down a lot, even with engine pods which change direction. Even the most powerful fighters of any given era don't usually carry 10 energy guns. Thrakath's Bloodfang sure didn't, and even the heaviest WCP-era fighter didn't... six guns on the Vampire, and two of them had to be really light on the power usage because of the four tachyons. IIRC, the Fission Guns took the Dragon's WHOLE power output to charge... and we don't even know what sort of power usage your Striker guns have. If they use normal bullets, then it's got an ammo limitation which renders it useless pretty quickly - if not, then you've got extra drain on the fighter's reactors, on top of shields and engines.

I'd drop the leech guns for sure, and probably the Fission Guns to replace with Tachyons or similar. The two Ion Turrets also look a bit like overkill, given that a) it's a VERY maneuverable heavy fighter and b) I don't see the point in having turrets on a heavy fighter that doesn't look like it's going to be delivering torps... since that's where they're most useful - during torp runs where you can't juke like a madman.
 
ditch the leeches and turrets. leeches arn't worth it (cause confed has the missiles) and turrets on a superfighter are pretty much worthless

The Striker Cannon was developed to replace the old Tachyon guns, after more than 70 years of service. It was in planning phase when the Gemini Secession began. Then, it was quickily finished to be put in their new fighter, the Titan. But none of them could be finished before the fall of Gemini. The research base was captured by the victorious rebels, and they also captured the plans for the Striker Cannon. But their first fighter equipped with it is rumoured to be finished only in eight months. And there are still many problems to be solved. The cannon heats up quickly, requiring the pilot to disengage or face an overload; it haves a small range; and various others. But as soon these problems are solved, the Striker Cannon may become one of the Confederation's main offensive fighter weapons.

The Fission Cannon mark III was developed to replace one of the most powerful weapons ever created, the Fission Cannon that equipped the original Dragon. It is one of pilot's favorite weapons. It was made for two things:
1. Provide a fast-recharging gun in it's minimum power.
2. Be a powerful gun if charged for enough time.

However, it haves some drawbacks:
1. The minimum charge is too weak
2. There is no "burst mode" for the minimum charge mode.
3. The average charges are not that good.
4. The maximum charge takes 4 minutes to be ready. This is too much in combat.

But it's another good, reliable weapon used by Confederation in this century.

Prologue - Part I

--Messiah Station, over Earth, 2740.001, 1000--

Rear Admiral Edward Stephens sat on his chair. It was another boring meeting with the Admiralty Staff. This new organization, created after the Nephilim War, was created to coordinate Fleet Actions and be Naval Staff. But nearly all of those men were politicians, not warriors, that sold themselves to some party or only want to be elected Senator. He saw Admiral Keros, that actually was working to the Firekkan Republik, Fleet Admirals Tardus, Kelim, Baik, Baker and Croft, the representatives of MegaCorp LLC, a company that got it's power at Hawking Sector, Vice Admiral Sowards, the Border Worlder, Vice Admiral Ardun, that was a highly-ranked Geminian secret agent, and Space Marshall Almada. The Space Marshall was the only thing preventing the Staff from being totaly non-Confederate. Those men were ruining Confederation forces, so, any of their bosses can attack the Confederation and win. But now, it was his time to talk:

Edward: Ladies and Gentleman, i am here to protect Fleet and Space Force interests. It's of public knowledge that this organization declared all Eisen-class hypercarriers in build to be cancelled, and all active units to be decommissioned. Actually, i am positioning myself against it. I don't think we should be left defenseless and simply dismantle this ships...

Tardus: Rear Admiral, actually, these ships were already sold to MegaCorp's defense force. We can't give their money back...

Edward: Fleet Admiral, what if one of the ships we sell is captured by Pirates, as they did with our newest Vesuvius-class escort carrier, the Krakatoa?

Tardus: Even at Sol Sector? You are really less intelligent than what i thinked, Admiral.

Edward: But at least i hadn't sold myself to some corporate group, mister.

Tardus: Wha...What are you saying?

Edward activates his recorder.

Tardus: We shall begin disbanding our fleet soon. I will grant you a fair price, Mr. CEO.
CEO: Okay. Here is your payment.

Edward: I believe this is enough evidence to arrest you, and General Rodham also does.

This isn't Wing Commander, this is just some generic science fiction story with the words "Wing Commander" half-assed on it.

I would strongly suggest you write stuff for the Wing Commander Aces club, they promote screwing the Wing Commander universe over and you'll fit right in perfectly.

Psych, how old are you? Because you just sound like some little brat the way you talk. This is happening in the future-it is most definetly going to have some differences from WC and I don't think this is really going to screw up the Wc ubniverse because it is so far into the future that WC will be over by the time the timeline of the current WC projects get anywhere near this point in the WC timeline.
 
may I remind you that current projects do not try to continue Wing Commander timeline, but to make existing Wing Commander universe better than Origin ever could.

We at the WC Saga believe that fan-made mods should fill in, not contradict, the gaps created by the official Wing Commander games and novels.
 
I am 23 years old. I am a senior graduating this August from the University of Texas in Austin, with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering. I do a lot of athletic hobbies in my off hours and have something special planned in the future, that I prefer not talking about.

I have been a member of the Wing Commander fan community since 1996 and during my teenage years I was responsible for writing over 500 pages of Wing Commander fan fiction for the Aces club, where I was one of the main coordinators. Right now, I am working on a WC project, but I'm not giving out the details on it right now.

Without going into details, I think the responsibility of any fan fiction writer or game modder is to fill in the gaps created by the WC universe, not to contradict it.

I have a very low tolerance for anyone who calls themselves WC fans but don't respect Wing Commander. You people and your ideas spreading throughout the fan community are like viruses, you multiply within a body and try to deteriorate it from within.

And like any virus, I get sick over it.
 
I'm completely agree with you... as you may recall, some time ago we had an idea of using a completely new black ops carrier in the game... It was called Black Guard

The ideas sounded like fun, but after a long consideration we have decided to stamp the ship and use something more common, like the Ranger light carrier.

Morale: bringing something new doesn't mean making something better. Everything you create should correspond with WC universe.
 
This mean that if i come with a idea, and i don't want it to fill any gaps, but to expand the timeline, i am a idiot and you have the right to insult me?OH, now i know.
