Need some help with The Kilrathi Saga

Is there anyway to stop KS from installing Direct X automatically when you put the first CD in, is there a patch or anything. Because everytime I start it with a later version of Direct X it always installs the version that came with it.
It's making me mad too, because I'm also playing Diablo 2 and it needs the later version, so I'm constantly install Direct X.

I've always found that DirectX finds newer versions of it's self and then gives you a choice to install older drivers. I've never heard of a patch to fix that kind of problem either. I suggest playing only KS for a while, finish the first disc and then play Diablo 2, install the new drivers, and go back to KS and see if it tries installing them again.

Well I thin k I figured out a solution, oddly enough from Diablo 2 cheat. So I'll give it shot. By the way the version of DX that comes with KS does not check for more advanced versions of itself.

AFAIK, there is no way around that, but, it does not overwrite newer files. Iam constantly swithching between games, and have never had a prob.

You can always re-install Dx.

True, but I think the problem is that in constantly switching games, DirectX is constantly being overwritten.
